If maintained properly the Mosquito Magnet® will run and not have down time. The propane tank and attractant lasts a full 21 days, and if replaced in a timely manner, will greatly increase your catch ratio. Follow the steps below, every 21 days, and use this as your standard maintenance routine.

Refill propane tank every 21 days.

Have your propane tank refilled by an authorized propane dealer. It's recommended that you do not use a tank swapping service. If you have a new tank, ask the propane dealer to "purge" it, as there may be air present in a new tank.

Use the the Reset Tool

After having the propane tank filled, use the reset tool to ensure that there is no back pressure in the OPD valve on the propane tank, and that the regulator is not locked. This is to insure that you have the proper gas flow.

Use the Quick-Clear Valve.

It is recommended that you use the Quick-Clear Valve before and after any prolonged storage period. We also recommend that the larger sized Maintenance Cartridges are used every single propane tank change. If you have problems starting your Mosquito Magnet® or keeping the Mosquito Magnet® running this is the time to use multiple cartirdges. This will prevent any contaminants from building up in the fuel system of the Mosquito Magnet®. If this maintenance routine is not followed, hese contaminants may build up over time, clogging the fuel system, and causing trap failure.

Replace or empty the net every 21 days.

Check the side vents for bugs.

Removing and checking the inside of the side vents to ensure that there are no bugs stuck to the inside of the vent will maximize air flow thru the trap. Heavily clogged vents will reduce your vacuum and your catch.

Keep the trap clean.

Periodically wipe down the outside and solar panel (Pro/Pro Plus ONLY) of the trap with a clean water and a damp cloth.
